CCRC-M8 is known to bind to rhamnogalacturonan I preparations from sycamore maple and potato. CCRC-M8 also binds to arabinogalactan-containing exudate gums such as gum ghatti and gum tragacanth. Immunolocalization data indicate that CCRC-M8 binds to an epitope that is distinct from that recognized by CCRC-M7.
