Mutant Name: rsw2
| Gene Name | KOR1 |
| Protein Name | endo-1,4-glucanase |
| Mutagen | EMS |
| Category | forward genetics |
| Organism | Arabidopsis thaliana |
| Ecotype | Col |
| Donor | |
| General Description |
1. rsw2 is a temperature-sensitive mutant of Arabidopsis showing radially swollen roots and a deficiency in cellulose. 2. The mutations change Gly-429 to Arg in rsw2-1 and rsw2-2; Ser-183 to Asn in rsw2-3; Gly-344 to Arg in rsw2-4. |
| Organ Specificity |
1.Abnormal cytokinesis and severely reduced birefringent retardation in elongating root cell walls. 2. Anther dehiscence is impaired. |
| Impact on Wall | |
| Impact on Sugar Composition | The shoots of rsw2-1 seedlings produce less cellulose and accumulate a short chain, readily extractable glucan. |
