Mutant Name: rsw4
| Gene Name | RSW4 |
| Protein Name | |
| Mutagen | EMS |
| Category | forward genetics |
| Organism | Arabidopsis |
| Ecotype | Col |
| Donor | |
| General Description |
1.The radial swelling phenotype is temperature sensitive, being negligible at 19 degrees C, and pronounced at the restrictive temperature, 30 degrees C. 2.Mutants carrying recessive, temperature-sensitive mutations exhibit reduced anisotropic growth at 30 degrees celcius. 3.Microtubules and cellulose microfibrils are not depleted or disoriented in the mutants. 4. The genetic locus is mapped to lower arm of chr 4 (12±5.9 cM from m326B, which is 61.9 cM). |
| Organ Specificity | |
| Impact on Wall | No defects in abundance or orientation of cortical microtubules, nor are microfibrils reduced. |
| Impact on Sugar Composition | the amount of cellulose was normal. |
